Hi !

In this post, we want to tell you something good about the Character Strengths:

We have almost two years knowing what the C.S. are, and since we know them, we apply them in our daily lifes. Its really cool to apply them because you don't notice when you use them. Is like at the moment and later you realize that you have been using them...

You need to practice them because its important to know that even in the worst situation, you can use them and solve your problems.

We liked this task because it was about us applying the character strengths, and it was not difficult because we already know them.

See you!!
Hey there !

A situation where we had a problem and we didn´t applied the Character Strengths are the following:

With Angie, was a day, when her car stopped and her mom couldn´t move it, Angie got stressed, so she didn´t applied Self-Control. If she had apply it, she would have been calm.

With Valeria, was when she needed to make a presentation and when she explained it, she didn't have enough information. So, if she had have applied Curiosity, she would have a nice presentation.

Have you been in a similar situation?

Character Strengths in My Life

Hi :)
First, we are going to tell you some situations when we applied Character Strengths...

The first situation about Angie, was that she applied Social-Intelligence in schoolbecause at the beggining of the school year, she saw a girl that was alone, so she went with that girl, they started to talk and they worked together.

The second situation, is about Valeria, was that she applied also Social-Intelligence in her house, because a day, when her little sister was having some problems with her homework, she helped her.

In what situation have you applied the character strengths?

Hey there :)

Today, we are going to tell you some tips for you, so you can be a better student...
  • In class, you can use Curiosity, because you can raise your hand and ask if you don´t understand something.
  • Again, Curiosity, for when you are studying and you don´t undersand something, you can look for it in the internet or ask a friend.
  • Also, you can use Self-Control, in case that if a classmate says something that you arwe not agree with, you need to stay calm, and try to understand why he/she said that.
  • Another one, is Grit, because you need to know that you can do anything you want, so you need to be perseverant.
  • And finally, Optimism, because in case you fail a subject, you use optimistic, thinking that you can be better in the next exam.

We like this task because we learn new things about ourselves and about another student. Also because we told you some tips, and we hope you apply them in your life...

See you later :)

Now we are going to interview a student, and her name is Sofía...

And here are her Character Strengths:

Curiosity: This is because when she has a doubt about something, she investigates about that, until she solve that doubt.

Social-Intelligence: Because she is always helping others and she tries to include everybody, in teams, etc.

Grit: Because she has never gave up. An example: her goal was to never have less than a 9 in the subjects, and this year, she achieved that, because she is very perseverant and intelligent.

With this, we realized that Sofía is a role model for others because she is a good person and a good student.

SEE YOU !

Hi :)

This week we are going to talk about ourselves and our character strengths...

We will start with Angie:
Hi, my name is Angie, I think that my Character Strengths are

Optimism: Because I always try to see the good things in life. For example, when my grandmother was diagnosed with a health disease, all my family got sad because my grandpa died because of the same disease. So I told my family to do not commit the same mistakes. That makes me optimistic, because my family and I, we never gave up.

Grit: Because I finish all the things that I start. In school, I try to do my best in all the subjects.

Now, about Valeria:
Hi, my name is Valeria, I think that my Character Strengths are:

Grit: Because I´m always trying to have good grades, and when I do something, I keep doing the same until I achieve it. An example about this, is when I did the exam that says if you can enter to the school, and I was nervous, so I did my best, and I pass that exam.

Self-Control: Because I control myself when I´m nervous or things like that.

Which are the character strengths that you think you have

see you in the next post :)

Hi again !!

We saw and review, and we realized that between what we though about the Character Strengths the teacher has and what he told us, there is a connection.

We said that the teacher has grit as part of his Character Strengths, and when we interview him, he said that he thought grit was part of his C.S.

Even that, we think that although he didn´t say that zest was part of his C.S. he has that.

Mr. Luis is a good teacher that is always perseverant and doing something good for others or for him.

We think that the week´s task was funny because we learn new things about this teacher and because it´s was enterteining to interview him.

Happy Teacher´s day!!!

See you later :)

Character Strengths

Hey there!

We asked the teacher to tell us about the Character Strengths he thinks he has, and here is what he said with a little story:

Grit: Because when he was in university he had a lot of troubles, because of the principal didn´t want him there, so Mr. Luis gave his best and he was perseverant. At the end, he succeed.

Justice: Because he always does what is the best, even if it is not convinect for him.

See you later :)

Hi !
This time, we want to share with you a movie, that is based in a real life case.
The name of this movie is The Pursuit of Happiness.

This movie is about grit.

Grit is the same as perseverance.
Is to keep doing something until you achieve it.
To have a goal.

Here is a quick summary
Chris Gardner is a struggling salesman trying to sell bone density machines - nice-to-have luxury items that don't sell easily. Things don't look up for Chris. His wife leaves him and their son to take a job in New York, he gets kicked out of his apartment and ends up sleeping in subway bathrooms and homeless shelters with his 5-year-old son. At the same time, he is struggling to make ends meet working as an intern at a brokerage firm where only 1 of the 20 intern candidates will land a job. Chris works all day, races to pick up his son from school and to the shelter hoping to get a spot for the night, then studies all night to prepare for his exam.

So, what are you waiting to watch this amazing movie?

This is Chris Gardner, the man of the story.

The task of this week was interesting, because we needed to look for a movie, a song, and a book, and we learn new things and understand others...

See you later !
Hi again :)

Here we come again, but this time, we want you to know about a book, which name is Wonder

The protagonist, August "Auggie" Pullman, begins by explaining that he knows he is not an ordinary ten-year-old kid. He was born with a facial deformity; consequently, other people always stare at him and make faces.

The book is about Self-Control.
It is the ability to subdue our impulses in order to achieve longer-term goals.

Why is this book about that?
Because people are always afraid of August, he stays calm, without getting mad or replying.

Here is a video about the book:

See you next time :)

Hi :)

While you are reading this post, listen and enjoy the next song:

We believe this is the perfect song to express optimism.
Do you know what optimism is?
If you don´t, it doesn´t matter, here we will explain it to you.

In simple words, is positively thinking.
Optimists have a tendency to make lemonade out of lemons, and to then see the glass as half-full rather than half-empty.

Which one are you?

And remember, be OPTIMISTIC!

What are the Character Strengths?

Character Strengths are the positive parts of your personality that impact how you think, feel and behave and are the keys to you being your best self.

Character Strenghts are 24 in total, but there are just 7 that are the most importants, which are: Curiosity, Zest, Self-Control, Gratitude, Grit, Optimism, and Social Intelligence, and each week, we are going to talk about each one of the ones above.

Our opinion about Character Strengths is that they are extremely important, because they are the guide of your life.
For example, if you have to make an experiment, you need to search for all the information. And that small action is Curiosity.
